Hilversum has been the Media City of the Netherlands for years and offers an exceptional concentration of unique businesses. We show that Hilversum is the place where we continue to build on the future of the creative digital industry and media. The Monitor Creative Industry 2019 from Media Perspectives reaffirms Hilversum’s unique position in the creative industry as a relatively small city with a large concentration of inspiring companies. We cherish that. The goal is a strong positioning of Hilversum as an attractive location for established and new companies and students, start-ups and professionals in the creative (digital) industry.


To put Hilversum on the map as a strong brand, we use various marketing and communication tools. The umbrella term we use for these strategies is “Live Hilversum Business”. The word “Live” refers to the presence of the media / creative industry, but also to “life” in Hilversum. The pay-off can be found on all our communications, channels and campaigns. When it concerns its basic communication channels, Live Hilversum Business is the sender. We use Live Hilversum (blue label) as an endorsement for separate campaigns of us or of third parties.

We work with a fixed basis of means of communication. Both physically and online. The online platform, Hilversum’s B2B website, offers a complete customer journey to companies, entrepreneurs and talent from Hilversum or whoever potentially wants to establish themselves in Hilversum. shows the city of creative makers and inspires to experience media, digital, sound and design in Hilversum. Via Live Hilversum Business we visualize these stories and Hilversum’s creative DNA. After all, proud entrepreneurs and professionals are the most important ambassadors for our city. In 2019 we developed the label and photographed and interviewed eight creative makers. In 2020 we will once again put 8 makers in the spotlight and we will focus on increasing the reach and strengthening the Hilversum network among professionals, entrepreneurs and talent (students). Other means we use are a B2B introduction film, social media (Instagram and LinkedIn page), welcome packages for (new) employees and a newsletter. With this, we aim for a strong profile of Hilversum as a city of creative makers.
